Notre alimentation, mondialisée et marchandisée, est à la merci d'un système de pénurie organisée qui donne l'illusion de l'abondance, et où la surproduction profite à une minorité qui, appuyée par la classe politique, se gave sur le dos des classes laborieuses. La maison brûle, eux surveillent le minuteur pour savoir quand ce sera cuit. L’alimentation est pourtant un outil de transformation sociale puissant, essentiel à la lutte des classes qui est aussi une lutte des casseroles.

Our food supply, globalised and commercialised, is at the mercy of a system of organised scarcity that gives the illusion of abundance, and where overproduction benefits a minority who, supported by the political class, gorge themselves on the backs of the working classes. The house is on fire, and they are watching the timer to see when it will be cooked. Yet food is a powerful tool for social transformation, essential to the class struggle, which is also a struggle of the pots and pans.

Nora Bouazzouni est journaliste (elle a collaboré avec France TV, Ciné+, Libération, Slate, Le Fooding, Marie Claire...) et traductrice. Elle a également participé à la création du podcast "Plan culinaire" et du programme court "Fine bouche", qu'elle écrit et anime. C’est aussi une militante féministe passionnée par le contenu de nos assiettes. Steaksisme est son deuxième ouvrage, après Faiminisme paru en 2017.
Nora Bouazzouni is a journalist for many French medias (France TV info, Libération, Slate, Le Fooding) and a translator. She took part in the creation of the podcast “Plan culinaire” (“culinary plans”) and presents the program “Fine Bouche” on youtube. She is also a food-lover and a feminist activist. Steaksisme is her second essay, after Faiminisme (Nouriturfu, 2017).
