Comment vivre, faire et s’organiser autrement ?
Plus nous avançons dans un siècle incertain, plus nous prenons la mesure de la fragilité des systèmes techniques qui structurent nos modes de vie. La low tech, qu’on oppose généralement à la high tech, interroge nos besoins dans un monde contraint. S’il n’est pas dépourvu d’ambiguïtés, ce mouvement dynamique pourrait bien participer à reconstituer des cultures techniques et conviviales, d’autres manières de vivre et de s’organiser. Qu’il soit rattrapé par des logiques marchandes et autoritaires, ou qu’il constitue un levier d’émancipation, la question que pose en creux le mouvement low tech est celle des chemins techniques à prendre pour refonder nos sociétés sur des bases viables, justes et désirables.
How to live, do and organize differently?
The more we move forward in an uncertain century, the more we realize the fragility of the technical systems that structure our lifestyles. Low tech, which is generally opposed to high tech, questions our needs in a constrained world. If it is not devoid of ambiguities, this dynamic movement could well participate in the reconstitution of technical and convivial cultures, other ways of living and organizing ourselves. Whether it is overtaken by commercial and authoritarian logics, or whether it constitutes a lever of emancipation, the question that the low-tech movement poses are that of the technical paths to take in order to re-found our societies on viable, fair and desirable bases.
